Nail My Interview listens to interviews and reads CVs, so this page is written to be specific rather than reassuring. It says exactly what is collected, what is never kept, who else sees it and how to delete all of it.

The short version. We store your email, your CV and the text of your sessions so you can come back to them. Audio is never stored anywhere — it is transcribed as it happens and discarded. We do not sell anything, we do not run advertising, and nothing you give us is used to train AI models. You can delete any of it, or all of it, at any time.

1. Who is responsible

Nail My Interview is operated by an independent sole trader, who is the data controller for the information described here. Reach us through our contact form.

2. What we collect

Account information

Your email address and a securely hashed password. That is the whole account record. We do not ask for your name, your phone number, your address or your date of birth.

What you give the tool to work with

A CV usually contains personal information such as your employment history and education, and a transcript can contain anything that was said. Only put in what you are comfortable storing.

Audio

Audio is streamed to a speech-recognition provider, converted to text, and discarded. It is never written to our database or to any file storage, and there is no recording to download or leak. Only the resulting text is kept.

Usage records

We log which features an account used and when, so we can enforce the free plan's limits, spot abuse and understand what is worth building. These records hold your account ID and the name of the feature — not the contents of your sessions.

What we do not collect

No advertising or third-party tracking cookies. No card details — those go straight to our payment provider and never touch our servers. No video, ever: Nail My Interview uses the audio of a call only.

3. Why we are allowed to hold it

Where the UK and EU GDPR apply, our lawful bases are: performance of a contract for anything needed to run the service you signed up for; legitimate interests for security, abuse prevention and basic usage counting; and legal obligation for records connected to payments and tax.

4. Who else processes it

Nail My Interview is a small operation built on other companies' infrastructure. These are the kinds of service we use, what each one receives, and why:

ServiceReceivesPurpose
Database and sign-inAccount details, CVs, transcripts, sessionsStoring your account and history
HostingRequests to the site and its APIRunning the website and app
Speech recognitionCall and microphone audioTurning speech into text
AI model providersSession textWriting answers, notes and feedback
Web searchA company name onlyCompany research in practice mode
Payment providerYour email and payment detailsPayments, invoices, sales tax

These providers are contractually restricted to processing data on our instructions. Several of them are based in the United States, so your information may be processed outside your own country. Where GDPR applies, those transfers rely on the providers' standard contractual clauses.

We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not share it with anyone outside these services, except where the law requires it.

5. AI model training

Nothing you put into Nail My Interview is used to train our models or anyone else's. We use these providers through their paid or business APIs, which exclude API content from training by default.

6. How long it is kept

When you ask us to close your account, everything above is removed from the live database within 30 days. Encrypted database backups roll off after that on our hosting provider's own schedule.

7. Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or object to our using it.

Every note and every practice session has a delete control in the app, so you can remove individual items yourself at any time. To close your account entirely, email us at support@nailmyinterview.com and we will delete the account and everything held under it. We act on any request within 30 days, free of charge.

If you are in the UK or EU and think we have handled something badly, you can complain to your national data protection authority. We would rather you told us first.

8. Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit. Data is stored in an access-controlled database where row-level rules restrict every record to the account that created it. Passwords are hashed, never stored in readable form. Keys for the AI providers are held server-side.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach ever affects your data, we will tell affected users and the relevant authority without undue delay.

9. Cookies

Nail My Interview uses browser storage for one thing: keeping you signed in. There are no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies and no third-party trackers, which is why you are not being asked to accept a banner.

10. Children

Nail My Interview is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect their information, and will delete any account we discover belongs to a child.

11. Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will email account holders before it takes effect. The date at the top always shows the current version.

12. Contact

Any privacy question, request or complaint goes through our contact form, or email support@nailmyinterview.com.
